Let's pretend that there is something on a website for sale that is $10. Let's again suppose that shipping for this is $6. The intended purchaser balks at the high shipping and decides not to purchase the item. Hypothetically, she talks to her sister who also likes items on this site, and reports that for $60 there is free shipping. AND if the order exceeds $75 you get the $10 for free.
$84 included free shipping and TWO free $10 items. Now, who really got the deal. Isn't $16 still cheaper than $84? Good thing this is all hypothetical. ;)
